North Hollywood High School has a long tradition of musical excellence, counting numerous famed musicians including conductor Michael Tilson-Thomas of the San Francisco Symphony, and composer John Williams among its many distinguished alumni. This tradition of excellence continues today.

The Music Program at North Hollywood High School has established itself throughout Southern California as one of the most well-rounded music programs which offer classes in Band, Jazz Band, Colorguard, Guitar, Drumline, and AP Music Theory. Recent awards include Superior ratings at SCSBOA, LAUSD, and Heritage festivals, as well as first placements at various Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Drumline competitions. As a Title I public school, we are especially proud of our diverse musical offerings.
